COST: Euro 1800

Itinerary

Day 1

ARRIVE AT NEW DELHI

As soon as you leave the arrival terminal at the New Delhi airport after clearing customs, immigration, and luggage collection procedures, a BTA representative will greet you and welcome you with flowers. You will then be transferred to your hotel. You should get ready before we start our full-day city trip. The journey will start with a stop at Raj Ghat, a relatively simple memorial as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, and then continue through the Red Fort to the Jama Masjid, one of Asia's biggest mosques. The majestic Red Fort was constructed between the years 1638 and 1648, during the height of the Mughal Empire, and it has a stunning view of the Jamuna River. The next destination on the itinerary is Jama Masjid, which is one of Asia's largest mosques and can be seen from the outside. Due to the mosque's constant flow of visitors and the presence of a neighbouring bazaar, there is rarely any peace in the neighbourhood. The trip also includes a drive through the impressive India Gate, the Parliament Building, the president's palace, Rashtrapathi Bhavan, and the Qutub Minar, the highest tower in India. Qutab-ud-Din Aibal began construction on the Qutub Minar in 1199 AD, and it was finished by IItutmish, the sultan's son-in-law and successor. 379 stairs lead from the ground to the summit of the 72.5 m-tall skyscraper. The base of the Minar has a 14.3 m diameter, while the top level has a 2.7 m diameter. The Qutub Minar remains the tallest stone tower. Thereafter, continue to the train station later to board the overnight train to Jodhpur. Meal Plan: Breakfast

Day 2

JODHPUR TO LUNI

After arriving in Jodhpur, we travel 40 km to Luni, where we have the morning to ourselves to rest or explore the neighbourhood. We take the bikes outside in the afternoon and set off on bicycles to explore a nearby settlement. We will drive to Jodhpur after lunch. This city was once known as the State of Marwar and was established by the Rajput chief Rao Jodha. The large fort that sits on a rocky hill and commands the surrounding desert dominates the city, which is encircled by an extensive wall measuring over 10 kilometres in diameter. We travel to the majestic Meherangarh Fort in the afternoon, from where we get a wonderful view of the blue buildings, painted in a way that identifies them as belonging to Brahmins. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 3

LUNI – RANAKPUR – UDAIPUR

We begin our day by riding 25 kilometres from the hotel to Ranakpur, where we then take a bus transfer. Once we get to Ranakpur, we have time to see the magnificent 15th-century Jain Temple. Lord Adinath is honoured at the main temple, which has been exquisitely sculpted from marble. It features 1444 pillars that support 29 halls, each of which is intricately carved with a unique pattern. After roughly 40 km of riding through the Aravali hills, we get back on our bikes and move by bus to the magnificent lakeside town of Udaipur. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 4

EXPLORE UDAIPUR

Non-Biking Day After breakfast in the morning, we go with a local guide towards Udaipur, sometimes referred to as "The Pearl of Rajasthan," "The City of Sunrise," and "Venice of the East." Udaipur is a stunning location and is recognised by both Indians and foreigners as the most romantic city in India. The main palace, which is located on the east side of Lake Pichola, provides an unrivalled vista across the shimmering lake to the barren Aravalli Hills, with the opulent Lake Palace Hotel completing the picture. There are two islands in Lake Pichola, and each boasts a palace that surpasses those on the mainland. Out of their reflections in the lake's waters, Jag Mandir and Jag Nivas (the latter of which is now the opulent Lake Palace Hotel) rise. We'll go to the city palace and the Jagdish Temple, which has a sizable Jagannath statue made of black stone. An attribute of the Lord Vishnu. After a sightseeing cruise on Lake Pichola, enjoy dinner at a nearby local restaurant. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 5

UDAIPUR -KUMBHALGARH

It's time to go from this lovely city and head north on our bicycles to Kumbhalgarh. The route avoids the major highway and takes a less direct but more leisurely series of side roads, allowing us to soak in India's wonderful rural life. It may be hot riding in India, but car assistance will be available if you need to rest in the vehicle instead of riding. One of the best examples of defensive walls in Rajasthan may be seen at Kumbhalgarh, which also boasts a beautiful temple and palace with vast landscapes. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 6

KUMBHALGARH-PUSHKAR

We depart Kumbhalgarh in the morning after breakfast. Our journey takes regional backroads until we reach the major highway, where we get off our bikes and drive the remaining distance (which takes around 4 hours). The little Hindu pilgrimage town of Pushkar, which is located on a sacred lake, is encircled by the desert. One of the few Brahma temples in the whole world can be found here. According to legend, the lake was formed from petals that dropped from the holy hands of the creator god Brahma. This town, which is dotted with 52 Ghats and almost 400 milky-blue temples, is well-known for its annual camel festival, which turns the entire area into a bustling marketplace. Before going to our accommodation, we'll spend some time taking in the sights and sounds of a Rajasthani town that is unlike any other. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 7

PUSHKAR – JAIPUR

We ride our motorcycles away from Pushkar and via little towns and arid backroads to the town of Rupnagar, which is a hub for the manufacture of marble. There is an option to continue travelling for a further 34 kilometres to the Naraina railway junction, where we will then switch to a car and drive 1.5–2 hours to Jaipur. We will cycle for around 60 km. Transfer to hotel upon arrival in Jaipur. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 8

JAIPUR

We could decide to take a historical tour of the beautiful Pink City in the early morning. Cycling through the fascinatingly snug laneways of Jaipur is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the city's life. The exuberant Albert Hall, which was constructed to greet the Prince of Wales on his visit in the 1870s, will be our destination after passing through havelis (Private homes) and sacred temples. On the route, we'll stop at some of the city's most well-liked food vendors so you have a taste of what the locals eat for breakfast. You will have some time to rest up at the hotel after the trip before we go out for a lovely day of sightseeing. We will explore the magnificent Amber Fort and rejoice in the magnificent museum located inside the city palace, the former home of the Maharaja. The famous Hawa Mahal, also known as the Palace of the Winds, is a must-see if visiting Jaipur for beautiful shots. Many handicrafts, including woven rugs, carpets, printed clothing, semi-precious stones, and leather goods, are produced in this city. There will be time during our stay to explore the marketplaces and perhaps find something special to take home from Jaipur. 12 kilometres of optional riding. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 9

JAIPUR TO BHARATPUR

Drive to Bharatpur and check into your hotel when you reach there. We will ride to the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary in the afternoon. The sanctuary was established 250 years ago and is named after a Shiva temple called Keoladeo which is situated inside the premises. It was once a natural depression that was flooded after the Ajan Bund was built by Maharaja Suraj Mal, the ruler of the princely state of Bharatpur at the time, between 1726 and 1763. The bund was built at the junction of two rivers, the Gambhir and Banganga. Since 1850, the park has served as a hunting ground for the Maharajas of Bharatpur, and each year, duck shoots were held in their honour. The then-Governor-General of India, Lord Linlithgow, killed approximately 4,272 birds in one hunt alone in 1938, including mallards and teals. Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary in Rajasthan, India, formerly known as the Keoladeo National Park or Keoladeo Ghana National Park, is a well-known avifauna sanctuary that attracts thousands of extremely rare and critically endangered birds like the Siberian Crane during the winter. The National Park is reported to be home to more than 230 different bird species. It is also a significant tourist destination, attracting a large number of ornithologists during the hibernation season. In 1971, it was designated as a protected sanctuary. It has been designated as a World Heritage Site as well. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 10

BHARATPUR TO FATEHPUR SIKRI

We began cycling in the morning from Bharatpur to Fatehpur Sikri through remote regions, stopping at villages and local schools along the route. We will conclude our cycling part in Fatehpur Sikri. Following a picnic meal consisting of local fruit, we will visit the deserted red sandstone city of Fatehpur Sikri, which the Great Mughal Emperor Akbar had constructed in the late 16th century to serve as his capital. As soon as it was constructed, it was abandoned because the nearby wells dried up, and it is still much in the same state as it was more than 300 years ago. When it was first built, it was a town bigger than London, filled with palaces and mosques. With its buildings being in almost excellent condition, it is now a fantastic spot for exploring around. After that, we will take a bus to Agra and then a taxi to your accommodation. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 11

AGRA TO NEW DELHI

After breakfast in the morning, check out of the hotel and drive to see the Taj Mahal. Everything that has been acknowledged about the Taj Mahal is true and even more. The white marble was mined 200 miles away and brought to the construction site by a fleet of 1000 elephants, taking 22 years and 20,000 men to complete. The Taj Mahal was one of the seven wonders of the world when it was built in the middle of the 17th century by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as a sign of his love for Mumtaz, his beloved wife. The Taj Mahal's inlay work is what makes it so stunningly flawless, given the fact that it seems to be flawless from practically every perspective. which is truly amazing. You will have plenty of time to check out and admire this magnificent work of architecture. Later, you'll see the Agra Fort, a magnificent illustration of Mughal architecture. Agra Fort served as the capital and a fortress for the Mughal Empire for many years. The current structure traces its beginnings to Akbar, who built the walls, the initial houses, and the mosque on the eastern banks of the Yamuna River. Shah Jehan later constructed the spectacular quarters and the mosque, while Aurangzeb later rebuilt the outer fortifications. Also, explore its Royal Pavilions and Public Audience Hall. W will have lunch at a neighbourhood eatery in Agra. Thereafter, we will start the journey back to Delhi. On arriving in Delhi, head to the farewell dinner before transferring to the international airport and moving towards your respective departing flights.

About the Ride

A special and environmentally responsible approach to discovering Rajasthan's rich history and culture is to take a bicycle tour of this Indian state. Rajasthan is an untapped reserve of architectural marvels and historical treasures, and a bicycle is the perfect way to tour all of its magnificent forts, palaces, and temples.

Rajasthan's history begins in the 4th century BC when it was a component of the Mauryan empire. The Rajputs, Mughals, and British were only a few of the strong dynasties that governed the area over the years. The beautiful forts, palaces, and monuments found throughout the state are still a memorial to their kings.

On a bicycle excursion through Rajasthan, you should certainly stop at the Amber Fort in Jaipur, the Mehrangarh Fort, and the Umaid Mahal Palace in Jodhpur, Udaipur, Pushkar, Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Agra, among others. The magnificent Dilwara Temples in Mount Abu, the Brahma Temple in Pushkar, and the Karni Mata Temple in Bikaner are just a few of the numerous historic temples that can be found in the state.

A bicycle tour of Rajasthan gives the chance to explore the colourful local culture, enjoy delectable Rajasthani cuisine, and socialise with hospitable residents in addition to historical sights. The majority of the trip itineraries pass through rural regions and small villages where you may see long-standing traditions and customs as well as get a peek at rural life. Overall, a bicycle trip across Rajasthan is an excellent opportunity to learn about the vibrant culture of this alluring region while simultaneously being fit and environmentally responsible.

WEATHER

The ideal months for riding a bike in Rajasthan are January through mid-April and from October to December. Maximum and minimum average temperatures vary from 25 degrees to 7 degrees. Cycling is ideal during these months in the desert since the sun is not as harsh and the days are pleasantly cool and enjoyable. Please remember to bring a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses. Although January and late December can be extremely cold, the mornings and evenings are typically calm and mild. Please remember to bring a shawl and a jumper/wind-cheater. There is no atmospheric humidity, and there won't be much rain during those days.

SUPPORT VEHICLE / TRANSPORTATION

Cost includes all forms of transportation. Our backup car is available throughout the whole bike excursion. If needed, the car can hold both you and your luggage.

FOOD INCLUDED

Eating locally, in our opinion, is not only a lot of fun but also one of those essential aspects of the destination experience—truly an adventure in and of itself! Hence, be adaptable and ready to savour and relish the delicious and diverse cuisine of the globe. The comprehensive itinerary includes a list of the meals that are included and overlooked. One must follow scheduling requirements when meals are included because they are typically at local neighbourhood establishments.

Your trip guide will be pleased to recommend restaurants that are popular with the locals whenever meals are not part of the package.  Vegetarian cuisine options may occasionally be monotonous and limiting. Even so, it is impossible to guarantee specific meals, such as vegetarian or kid-friendly options. We will do our best to fulfil your needs. Please be sure to let your guide know if you're a vegetarian while going on guided excursions.

TYPE OF CLOTHING

We advise wearing solid footwear, dry-fit T-shirts or cycling jerseys, and cycling shorts. Flip-flops and loose-fitting clothing are inappropriate for a bicycling excursion. During the rainy season, you simply need to bring a rain jacket; no additional clothing is necessary.

Your security is our top concern. On the riding part of the tour, we strongly suggest all of our participants always wear a helmet. We advise our riders to apply a nice coat of sunscreen lotion because we are specialists with sufficient expertise driving on Rajasthani roads. You can utilise buff headgear for your neck and sun sleeves for your arms to further protect yourself.

Take note:

  • India has a higher emphasis on tradition in its clothing. While visiting tiny non-urban locations, temples, mosques, or other religious sites, we advise avoiding wearing very short shorts or skirts and fitted shirts or tank tops since they may prevent you from entering.

  • Water-resistant clothing

  • A jacket, sweaters, and a thin cardigan.

Things to take care of:
